Nollywood screen siren, Genevieve Nnaji, may no doubt be somewhat reserved and private about her personal life but, one thing you can’t dispute is how much she treasures her friendship with a close circle of pals. With a soaring popularity, which has translated into endorsement deals, the stylish diva appears not to have close friends within her industry.

Her buddies include super models, Oluchi Orlandi and Ojy Okpe, celebrity stylist, Veronica Ebie-Odeka, as well as the Onwugbenu sisters—Onyinye and Chinny—who are co-owners of MUD Cosmetics franchise in Nigeria. They not only attend one another’s family engagements, but also relate more like sisters. When the classy actress was recently conferred with a chieftaincy title in her hometown, Mbaise, Imo State, not a few of them attended the ceremony.

Kashamu’s passion

$

Politics seems to be everything to businessman and politician, Buruji Kashamu. The Ogun State-born politician lives and breathes politics but not many people know that his passion transcends shaping the future of the Peoples Democratic Party.

It is no longer news that he is married to a lady, Susan, who is at least three decades younger than he is. To say that he is smitten by the mulatto beauty that bore him a son a little over three years ago is stating the obvious.

Buruji who is known to flaunt his women is usually quick to introduce her to his friends whenever they attend parties in company with each other. Expectedly, he spares no cost at making her and their son comfortable. They reside in a choice apartment and she is ferried around town in grand automobiles. Copyright PUNCH.

Instead he chose his wife, Biola, to accompany him to the function. As expected, they were the cynosure of eyes just as the paparazzi would not let them be.

Shagamu, Ogun State-born socialite, Yacoob Abiodun‘s looks belie his age. At almost 70, the longstanding socialite had a good run in civil service and is currently savouring life in retirement. Fondly called Tito by his admirers, many will recollect that he attracted the presence of the crème of society to the public presentation of his self-authored book, “Affordable Housing and Urban Planning Practice in Nigeria” which held at the Nigerian Institute of International Affairs, Victoria Island last March.

Subsequently, Tito whose only daughter, Lola got married to Tosin, Senator Gbenga Ashafa‘s son in 2009, took leave of the social scene. Unknown to many, he relocated albeit temporarily to the United States of America where he schooled more than two decades ago. While there, he busied himself with study tours to Chicago, New York, Los Angeles and San Francisco.

After a long absence from the social scene, he made an eye-catching appearance at a party which was held in Lagos recently. Brilliantly-dressed in a light-hued traditional attire and Mauri shoes, he was sighted at the party held in honour of the memory of late Bode Fadase.

The Canadian-born duo of Jyoti and Kiran stole into our social consciousness about three years ago. The duo was contracted to manage an upscale restaurant in Victoria Island. After they fell out with its owner, they moved on to greater things.

While it is still not clear what the sisters do for a living, what is clear is their addiction to luxury. The pair take luxury vacations overseas and fly private jets frequently. While they claim to be self-made, mischief makers have debunked the assertion. According to them, the sisters are beneficiaries of a Good Samaritan’s generosity.

The unconventional communications specialist was once rumoured to have nursed the ambition of becoming the governor of the sunshine state. Although he did not confirm or deny the story, the tale was swept under the carpet without much ado.

A few days ago, his political affiliation was brought to fore. He sponsored a full-page newspaper advertorial as the Ondo State coordinator, presidential campaign council. In the advert, he pledged his support for President Goodluck Jonathan and the Peoples Democracy Party. This singular act is breeding questions here and there.

After five years as managing director of M-Net Africa, Biola Alabi took up a fresh role last year when she was named Managing Director, Special Projects in the same organisation. A frequent reveller, her face was commonplace at official and non-official functions. She savoured a good rapport with the media and this ensured she graced the cover of several top-notch magazines.

Her husband, Mako Alabi, who used to work with the Lagos State Government, enjoyed a near equal measure of visibility. Following her new posting, the duo is no longer prominent on the social sphere. Their non-appearance at some functions has not gone unnoticed. That is why not a few persons were glad to see the couple at an event that held penultimate week at the prestigious Eko Hotel and Suites.
