The senior pastor, Fountain of Life Church, Pastor Taiwo Odukoya, has been in his finest elements lately. The father of five and grandfather of one has had several reasons to roll out the drums in no small measure.

A few weeks ago, there was merriment in the home of the Odukoyas when Pastor Nomthi, as she is fondly addressed, turned 40. To commemorate the attainment, she launched her first book and thereafter hosted family and friends to a grand soiree.

Many will recollect that a few years ago, he got married to Nomthi, a South African, after the death of his first wife, Pastor Bimbo, in the ill-fated 2005 Sosoliso plane crash.

Still basking in the euphoria of a previous celebration, Odukoya had reason to roll out the drums again last weekend when he dedicated the newly-completed Fountain of Life Church’s auditorium.

Identical twins, Kehinde Majekodunmi and Taiwo Mayeku used to be quite popular on the party scene. They dropped out of circulation and after a while, they resurfaced again. The sisters, who are of a laudable pedigree, have, since their return, resumed making appearances at high-profile celebrations hosted by their ilk .Evidently so, they have upped their game.

Expectedly, they go almost everywhere together and take delight in wearing similar clothes and accessories. Even though Kehinde was in the news a few years ago, she appears unfazed by the idle talk that made the rounds.

Blessed with outstanding physiques, they flaunt an amazing dress sense that brings to fore their uncommon taste in fashion.

His new role also extends to other West African countries.

Akpata, a chartered accountant and alumnus of the University of Lagos, took over from Ken Igbokwe.

At a cocktail party organised to host Igbokwe and Akpata by a legal firm, Aelex, not a few prominent Nigerians turned up to felicitate with them.

Funmi and Samuel Oduyemi are two of the children of the now deceased founder of Bethel Ministries, Pastor Gabriel Oduyemi and his wife, Roselyn. Unlike their parents who are famed for preaching the gospel, the same cannot be said of Funmi, and her brother who share the same name with their father.

A few years ago, Funmi’s nude pictures went viral on the Internet while several reports of Samuel’s misdemeanours have made the front page news of soft sell magazines.

But these could be in the past though as the pair has been off the scene for a while prompting insinuations that they may have mended their ways and toeing the path of righteousness.

In her 30s, Jennifer Obayuwana is an executive director at Polo, a luxury lifestyle store in Lagos. A mother of one, the chummy relationship she enjoys with her father, John, cannot be overemphasised. They constantly attend functions in company with each other so much that very little or nothing is known about her mother.

Until recently, when she decided to put up a picture of her mum, only few people knew what the woman looked like. Jennifer posted a picture of her and the mother, which was taken at Grailland, Iju Hills, Lagos.

The older woman would conveniently pass for Jennifer’s sister but she is just as stylish as her daughter.

Her look-alike sister, who is the current Cross River Most Beautiful Girl, is one of the contestants taking part in the forthcoming MBGN 2014 pageant. It is no longer news that former Miss Lux, Ibidun Ighodalo, has kept a low profile for over a year until recently when she stepped out of her cocoon. While she was away, the ex-beauty queen, who is married to Pastor Ituah Ighodalo gave room to all kinds of speculations on what may have led to her long absence.

This was the state of things until a month ago when her Facebook page became active again. In addition to that, she made public her latest business venture. A renowned event planner, Ibidun, who runs Elizabeth R, added an event venue to her list of business endeavours. Called the Dorchester, Ibidun seems set to embrace the party scene again.

As if to prove to doubting Thomases that she is back for good, Ibidun put together and attended the wedding of Feran and Wole Sonuga which held in Lagos penultimate weekend.

Looking robust, the pastor’s wife was elegant in her purple traditional wear which was teamed with a matching set of diamond jewellery. Without stating the obvious, she was the cynosure of eyes next to the couple.

Beautiful in the true sense of the word, Mina Okoloko is one of the beauty entrepreneurs who popularised luxury spas. Her spa, Beauty Concerns, in its heyday, enjoyed the patronage of big names in the social circuit. Married to oil and gas big boy, Jite Okoloko, Mina was a regular feature on the social scene even though she was selective of gatherings she found herself.

A great dresser, her popularity began to experience a drop a few years ago and many have since attributed her prolonged absence to recent events in her life. Apart from this, she lost a property worth millions of naira to a fire incident at her place of abode.

She is of a creditable pedigree and she makes no pretence about it. Her father, Sir Gabriel Igbinedion, is one of Nigeria’s famous moneybags while her mother, Lady Cherry, who is of Jamaican heritage, is regal in the true sense of the word.

Omosede, who schooled in prestigious institutions abroad, trained as a lawyer. A mother of one, many will recollect that her two-year-old marriage to Bini prince, Aven Akenzua, crashed irretrievably in 2002.Not only did the wedding, which was contracted amid pomp, not stand the test of time, the couple’s split was characterised by acrimony.

Unperturbed, Omosede launched into the social scene in a big way and has most recently announced her presence on the political scene in her home state, Edo.

In her early 30s, she has signified her interest to contest for a seat in the House of Representatives. She is seeking to represent Ovia Federal Constituency in the lower house and has already set her campaign machinery in motion.
