The pleasures of owning a yacht are numerous and the multimillion naira acquisition is a status-enhancing item many can now claim ownership of. Here are some rich Nigerians who own these luxury water ‘toys’:

Kola Aluko

This oil magnate, whose shot to wealth and fame is still being discussed in social circles, joined the league of owners of the most expensive yachts in the world. He has a Hessen built Galactica Star valued at $100million and is probably the most expensive boat owned by a black man. The humongous boat won a prestigious award at the Monaco Boat Show in 2013.

Femi Otedola

His 12m dollars luxury yacht is named after his wife, Nana. It is a sight to behold. Believed to own more than one yacht, each is said to set him back by several millions of naira.

Deinde Fernandez

A self-made billionaire, he has a gigantic yacht he sails in when the need arises. The luxury boat, which is one of his numerous luxury acquisitions, is named Yemoja.

Aliko Dangote

His yacht is a masterpiece. The luxury boat, which set him back by several millions of dollars, was purchased a few years ago and he sails in it from time to time.

Oscar Ibru

The scion of the Ibru dynasty, Oscar Ibru loves the good life and he makes no pretence about it. For one who works hard, he spares no cost at pampering himself. One of the ways he achieves this is by sailing regularly on his private yacht.

Tony Elumelu

Former banker and chairman, HEIRS Holding, loves to sail as much as he likes to fly in private jets. For the former purpose, he owns a luxury yacht.

Tunde Folawiyo

Although he likes to be silent about his wealth, his pedigree is such that prevents him from escaping notice. Expectedly, he is one of several affluent personalities who own a yacht.
