The incumbent governor of Rivers State is proving to be one of the best dressed state chief executives. His predilection for designer apparels is fast coming to the front burner. Many will recollect that he rocked a Louis Vuitton suit to the 50th birthday party of Ruth Osime, Thisday Style editor. The graphic print blazer was from the designer’s 2013 Fall collection.

Last weekend, he put his sartorial edge on display again when he made an appearance at Paul and Anita Okoye’s wedding dressed in yet another masterpiece. This time, he settled for a floral patterned blazer from Gucci’s 2014 Spring collection.

Mike Adenuga bereaved

Globacom founder, Mike Adenuga is bereaved. His first cousin and socialite, Funmi Suinner, succumbed to death last week after battling a terminal sickness that kept her out of the social scene for a long period. One of her six daughters,  Anne Suinner-Lawoyin, placed second in the  2001 edition of the Most Beautiful Girl in Nigeria pageant  but replaced Agbani Darego, who went on to become Miss World.

An only child, the 67-year-old deceased is also survived by her 89-year-old mother.

Kuforiji-Olubi ages gracefully

In her heyday, former minister of commerce, Bola Kuforiji-Olubi, was a wave-making professional. The reasons for this were not restricted to her exploits in the economic sector. Her elegant looks and in-depth knowledge of trends contributed to her fame.

Then, she easily made the list of Nigeria’s most stylish women. Two years shy of clocking 80, Kuforiji-Olubi, who was the first female chairman of  the United Bank for Africa, has not lost any of her allure even though she is ageing.

For a while, her presence at soirees hosted by her ilk witnessed a conspicuous decrease. But penultimate week, she took out time to attend the birthday party of Otunba Subomi Balogun. Styled in the most recent fashion, her gait bore the tell-tale signs of ageing.

At his father’s church, where he is a pastor, those who have come in contact with him would attest to the fact that he is a chip off the old block. Segun Fowora returns

Remember him? He used to be married to the daughter of the late strongman of Kwara State politics, Dr.Olusola Saraki. Though his marriage to Senator Gbemi Saraki did not stand the test of time, it lasted several years during which she bore him children.

While no one can state categorically why the union failed, both have since charted separate courses. While Segun has since remarried, Gbemi is yet to tie the knot again.

Segun, who is believed to be a close ally of former Governor of Delta State, James Ibori, has been missing in action for a while now. Surprisingly, he recently showed face the Vanguard newspapers’ personality of the Year awards. To say he looked dashing was an understatement.

Northern-born billionaire businessman and Forbes-listed Africarichest man; Aliko Dangote is a gold fish with no hiding place. His presence at any occasion does not go unnoticed. Known to have several beautiful daughters, the same can be said of them too.

One of them, Fatima, who got married a few years ago at a lavish ceremony, is perhaps the most prominent of these girls.

At the Vanguard newspapers’ Personality of the Year awards, which held recently in Lekki, Lagos, Fatima and at least three of her sisters were guests. The ladies, who were dressed in true northern style, were the cynosure of eyes. Their corner became a Mecca of sorts for guests and excited paparazzi could not help but take their photographs.

It is no longer news that hip-hop act, Modupe Ola, a.k.a Mo’ Cheddah, is in a long-term relationship with Bukunyi Olateru-Olagbegi. Incidentally, the latter is the younger sibling of On-Air- Personality, Gbemi Olateru-Olagbegi.

Mo’Cheddah, who has in the last year been very open about this affair, might have been engaged by her lover. Not too long ago, she put up a picture of both of them and she was seen wearing an engagement ring.
