Francis Ogboro still in view

Multi-millionaire businessman, Francis Ogboro, is a longstanding socialite who has been around for several decades. A close friend of a former military President of Nigeria, he was for many years President of the Lagos Polo Club.

Ogboro, who is now president of rival association, Nigeria Polo Federation, is known for his lavish lifestyle. Due to his enduring social presence, he caused eyebrows to be raised when for several months, he dropped out of circulation. While many were of the opinion that it was a deliberate act on his part, others held a contrary opinion. After months of reduced social activity, he has suddenly bounced back into reckoning.

When Derin Disu turned 60

Not many know that former Lagos Island Local Government chairman, Derin Disu, turned 60 a few weeks ago. To commemorate the occasion, Derin, who is the current Special Adviser on Central Business District to Governor Raji Fashola, rolled out the drums to celebrate her attainment.

In attendance were family and friends from all walks of life who turned out enmasse to celebrate her.

Susan Kuku’s new look

She used to be known as Susan Hart until she wedded socialite, Olorogun Sonny Kuku, in a hush-hush manner a few years ago. The former beauty queen has shielded her marital status from the public for many years. But last year, she unveiled her spouse when they both stepped out in company with each other at an elite gathering in Lagos. Since then, the duo has flaunted their affection for each other in public many times in spite of the age difference that exists between them.

Not too long ago, Olorogun Kuku was hosted to a dinner by the Kings College alumni, as part of activities marking his 70th birthday. He attended the event in company with his wife and those who saw her paid compliments to her new look. Already, she has put on a considerable amount of weight.

Except you are a keen observer, you may not have noticed that one of the best hands in Nigeria’s banking industry, Jim Ovia, has been keeping a low profile. As opposed to the likes of Tony Elumelu, who has been visible in the scheme of things, the same cannot be said for Ovia, who cherishes his privacy so much that he chose to host his daughter’s wedding in London.

Last weekend, he made an exceptional appearance at the birthday party of Otunba Subomi Balogun. Dressed in a dark-hued suit, he was in company with his wife.
