It is certainly not uhuru for the duo of Oona and Louise Priddy. The mulatto sisters, until they slowed down on their jet set lifestyle, were hot on the social scene. Louise, who is married to a Lebanese, operated the now defunct Bacchus nightclub, Ikoyi. The two sisters, whose social life suffered a further setback after their father’s death, reappeared on the social scene recently after a prolonged absence. They were guests at Tiwa Savage’s wedding looking awesome.

Multiple award-winning actress turned publisher, Monalisa Chinda, was in her finest elements last week when she and her beau, Lanre Nzeribe, hosted an elaborate launch for her self-styled magazine, Monalisa.

The event, which took in Lagos, was an opportunity for the very light skinned actress to assure doubting Thomas’s that all is indeed well between her and her lover cum business partner, Lanre Nzeribe. While the event lasted, Nzeribe was the dutiful lover as he was not only up and doing; he was at Monalisa’s beck and call.

A few months ago, she and Nzeribe were in the news when reports filtered out that their relationship experienced a rough patch.

Remember him? He is the other half of the reggae music group, Mandators. Along with his late lover, Peggy Imanah, they ruled the late 90s with their debut album, sunrise.

But in the wake of the break-up with Imanah and the scandal that trailed his relationship with a certain nurse, Eshiet left the country to seek greener pastures abroad.  It was rumoured that he kept music aside and instead took on a job as taxi driver.

Last week, he appeared at the Nigerian Music Video Awards where he was honoured with a Lifetime Achievement Award.  As he received the award, Eshiet gave a speech laced with heavy American accent, to the amusement of the crowd who mimicked every word he said.

Unusually calm, Chris Erondu is one successful businessman who shuns the limelight like a plague. Rarely seen in public, Chris, as his friends like to address him, owned Page, an elitist nightclub, in a posh part of the mainland in addition to trading in posh automobiles.

The club, which has been in operation for upwards of five years, was shut down a few months ago during which speculation was rife that Erondu had fallen on bad times. Last week however, he reopened the property housing Page in grand style. Not only is the place wearing a new look, it has also been rechristened De Vogue.

Model turned businesswoman, Jennifer Uzor is not a stranger to the limelight. A ‘big girl’ in the real sense of the word, Jennifer made waves a few years ago when she floated a hangout with serial club proprietor, Akeem Sodeinde.

Although the business partnership turned sour and Jennifer pulled out, she instantly moved on to better things, including matrimony which caused her to go low profile. Penultimate week, she made a rare public appearance at Lola Omotayo’s wedding. A close friend of the bride, Jennifer was as beautiful as ever.

Since she lost the bid to become the number one citizen in Kwara State, Senator Gbemi Saraki has dropped out of circulation. The very prominent daughter of the now deceased strongman of Kwara state politics, Dr. Olusola Saraki, withdrew into her shell and rarely made appearance at functions hosted by her ilk.

A few weeks ago, she decided otherwise when she attended the 50th birthday shindig of Senator Teslim Folarin in Ibadan. Looking stress-free and beautiful, she formed the cynosure of eyes at the high-profile party which is still the talk-of-town in the ancient city where it was hosted.

Biodun Shobanjo, a jolly good fellow

$

Not a few people perceive the chairman of Nigeria’s largest marketing communication conglomerate and founding CEO of Insight Communications, Biodun Shobanjo, to be a stern man. At least judging from his role in television reality show, ‘The Apprentice Africa’, where he was the CEO a few years ago.  Always referred to as the Czar of advertising, he is certainly a different kettle of fish at social events when he lets down his hair.

He was at an event recently where he overtly proved to be a social butterfly. He was in his optimum element  as he visited a few tables exchanging banters with friends before he took his early leave.

On-Air personality, Charles Anazodo, is married to sexy On-Air personality and former Nigerian Television Authority presenter, Marian Anazodo. Both make a beautiful couple.  Ironically, their looks was put to test lately.

It was at a show in Lagos and to compere were Mariam Anazodo and entertainment personality, Olisa Adibua.  At a point, Adibua remarked that he wondered how Charles was able to convince beautiful Mariam to be his wife! At the remark, Anazodo, who sat at a table in the hall, complained openly to people close to him. His face didn’t hide his anger either.

Meanwhile, Olisa Adibua, who is in his 40s and very single, loves to hang out and makes no pretence about it. From private parties, red carpet functions to hanging out at clubs, he is almost never without a cigar which he puffs at will.

Kemi Adewunmi grooves

A visible figure during former President Olusegun Obasanjo’s administration; you cannot miss Kemi Adewunmi in a crowd. She was a formidable member of the Lagos chapter of the Peoples Democratic Party. Though not a political office holder, there was no gainsaying the fact that she was a power broker. Sometimes ago, she was out of the social radar but bounced back.

Lately, the pretty politician sent text messages to friends and associates which served as invites to her 50th birthday thanksgiving mass. Held at the Holy Cross cathedral, Lagos, the gold themed event was a gathering of political bigwigs and the crème of society.  Known never to host low profile shindigs, Adewunmi is said to have slated the latter part of the month for a proper party that will be much-talked-about.

Meanwhile, for the politician and her mother, Madam Bola, who also clocked 80 years earlier in the year, it has been a good time on the society scene. Both mother and daughter were sighted at the recent wedding of Prince Adetunji Adesida and they were dressed in the same aso ebi. It is an understatement to say they grooved!  The turquoise blue themed wedding, which was hosted by the late Deji of Akure, Oba Adebiyi Adesida, had in attendance, many celebrities. It was the last public outing of the late monarch before his death recently.

The First Lady of Oyo State, Florence Ajimobi recently became a grandmother after her daughter, Bisola Kola-Daisi, was delivered of a baby in faraway America. Many will recollect that Bisola got married to Kolapo, one of the sons of billionaire industrialist, Chief Kola Daisi in 2010 at a talk of the town wedding that shook the social circuit in Ibadan.

Almost three years after the wedding, she welcomed a baby and her excited mum has since relocated to America albeit temporarily to be with mother and child. This explains why she has been absent at most social and official events in Oyo State where her husband is governor.

Otedola steps out with family

Unlike his contemporary, Aliko Dangote, billionaire businessman and one of Nigeria’s wealthiest moguls, Femi Otedola’s presence at social functions is quite irregular. Recently, he decided to step out of his cocoon when he attended a wedding in Lagos. But he was not alone. For company, he had his beautiful wife, Nana and daughter, DJ Cuppy, who has become a sensation in the entertainment industry.

Forbidding any kind of fuss, Otedola carried on like any of the other guests.  Except for the presence of his security details, there was not much to indicate that a big celebrity was in the house. Of course, the paparazzi feasted on them. Even His wife Nana, who is averse to such public showing, savoured a bit of the attention they generated.

She is the president, Actors’ Guild of Nigeria. He is an actor from a dynasty of theatre artistes. For both Ibinabo Fiberesima and Fred Amata, it was a love script gone sour. That they both have a child together and are no longer lovers is no news.

They were both guests at the recent Nollywood Grand Awards night, which held in Lagos. Looking delectable in an evening dress, Ibinabo got to the venue ahead of Fred, who came a few minutes later. While both exchanged banters and greetings with friends and colleagues, they completely ignored each other!

Again, Ibinabo became busy with the award presentation and did not bother to acknowledge Fred’s presence as protocol demanded. For  Fred, whose Instagram page is filled with congratulatory messages on his award, he remained outside the hall a greater part of the night.
