Dotun Akande needs no introduction. She is one of the successful daughters of late Engr. Adeoye Fowora. Her sister, Bola, is married to the Executive Director/Chief Executive Officer of the Nigeria Export Promotion Council, Segun Awolowo.

Dotun, who is married to Tunde Akande, a banker turned businessman, runs the Patrick Speech and Languages Centre, Lagos, where children with autism spectrum disorder are catered for. Also known for her autism awareness campaigns, the mother of three left her job as a banker to establish the centre, when her son was diagnosed with the disorder in 2005.

At the 2015 Vlisco Women’s Month Award held recently in Lagos, she emerged winner among two other finalists, Itoro Eze-Anaba and Tolulope Sangosanya. In recognition of her humanitarian work, she was awarded the 2015 Vlisco Brand Ambassador and takes over from Adesuwa Onyenokwe.

He was one of the guests that attended the birthday party of newly-elected legislator, Omosede Igbinedion, which held at her father, Sir Gabriel Igbinedion’s palatial residence in Benin last week.
