Fifi Ejindu dazzles

In the capital city of Abuja where she is resident, accomplished architect and businesswoman, Fifi Ejindu is one of its most prominent residents.

The Cross River State-born mother of one, who is married to Amechi Ejindu, sure knows how to dazzle when she chooses to. A fine dresser, it is no longer news that she is a lover of good things and this reflects in the way she lives her life.

Not overtly showy, she nevertheless made a remarkable showing at the wedding of President Jonathan’s daughter, which held a few weeks ago. She attended the ceremony chauffeur-driven in a luxury ride. Her choice? A white Rolls Royce.

Premier lotto boss, Chief Kessington Adebutu, is two years shy of clocking 80, yet his looks do not betray his age. Still agile in the true sense of the word, the Ijebu, Ogun State-born multimillionaire businessman was the cynosure of eyes when he strolled into the venue of the Okoya/Akala wedding in company with his wife, Kofo.

Many will recollect that Kofo, his youngest wife was delivered of a set of twins last year. Expensively dressed, not a few sought to catch a glimpse of her.

What next for Omorede Osifo?

This Edo State-born socialite, Omorede Osifo, was a regular on the social scene. Her fame grew in leaps and bounds when she embraced politics in her home state. Quite stylish, she was greatly admired by the opposite sex though not much is known about her marital status.

A two-time commissioner, she was a member of former Governor Lucky Igbinedion’s cabinet and until a few months ago, a member of the Adams Oshiomhole-led government.

After she was relieved of her post, she has become less visible in the scheme of things. There are unconfirmed talks that she is planning to worm her way into the hearts of the populace again via an elective post.

This Fayose’s son

Unlike the likes of Asiwaju Bola Tinubu; Otunba Alao Akala, the late Lam Adesina, and a few others whose children were just as popular as their fathers while they were in office, Ayo Fayose has successfully kept his children away from the limelight.

Not many know that the former Ekiti State governor, who is currently seeking a return to the Government House, has a son who is well-known. Joju, as his friends call him, likes to keep a low profile and shuttles between Nigeria and Europe.

Anytime he is in town, he goes about his business unnoticed and makes no noise about his status.

Not many will forget in a hurry the destination wedding in Dubai when silver spoon kid, Abi Kuku, wedded Funke Fowler. The wedding, which was attended by the crème of society, dominated discourse months after it held.

On-Air-Personality, Hauwa Mukan, has definitely picked up the pieces of her life after her marriage to neo-soul singer, Olufemi Sanyaolu, a.k.a, Keziah Jones, allegedly hit the rocks. The fun-loving presenter has ditched her wedding band and socialises habitually.

The couple, who became man and wife in January 2012 in spite of the 18-year age disparity, split after two years of marriage. Signs that the union was troubled became obvious when Hauwa started attending functions in company with her sister and sometimes, alone.

Jones, an internationally-acclaimed musician, was once married to an Anglo-Nigerian singer, Akure Wall, in 1994 but the couple separated two years later.

Its owner, Fati Asibelua, is known within and outside the fashion circles. Asides owning a fashion house, she and her husband, Mohammed Asibelua, are deep pockets and this reflects in everything they do.

For some time now, mum has been the word from Fati. Unlike what obtained in the recent past when her fashion house made the news rounds, the same cannot be said any longer.

Ladies man, Tayo Alakiu has been linked to some women who are just as popular as he is. It is no longer news that he was married to Toyin Collins for upwards of 10 years before the duo parted ways. While he was married to his ex-wife, he maintained relationships with Rhoda Eweka and Kehinde Ayoku simultaneously.

Kehinde, who he engaged at some point, bore him two kids. Close watchers have noticed that in recent times, he frequents parties in company with Rhoda Eweka. People have begun to wonder if all is indeed well between him and Kehinde, who is the daughter of the late Chief Solomon Ayoku, who owned Golden Gate restaurants.

Maje without Toke

Not a few clinked glasses when newly-weds, former Miss Toke Makinwa and her hubby, Maje Ayida, tied the knots. Interestingly, since their union, Toke seems to be constantly on the move without her hubby in tow.

Close-watchers have observed that these days, she is rarely seen at events in company with her husband like most newly-weds are wont to do.

Recently, she was in Dubai for the Tiwa/Teebillz wedding. Though she was there over the weekend and attended all the ceremonies lined up, including a boat cruise, she missed her flight and was accommodated in one of the best hotels by a good friend. All these she talked about on her Instagram page and also sent an ‘I miss you’ message to her husband via the same medium.

  While others have blamed it on the dictates of her profession, others insist Maje is not one to party-hop.

Olugbodi’s wife celebrates

A few weeks ago, Tunde Olugbodi, chairman of one of Nigeria’s foremost advertising agencies, Verdant Zeal, turned 50 and high society was agog with the news of his celebration.

The accomplished advertising practitioner who is not one to allow such a milestone slip by was hosted to a wonderful groove put together by his wife, Atinuke Olugbodi.  There was a huge turnout of high networth individuals.

Still relishing the sweet memories of that particular event, the Olugbodis rolled out the drums again. This time around, it was in honour of   Tunji’s wife, Atinuke, who clocked five decades last Wednesday. Born in the same year as her husband, he reciprocated her gesture by hosting another grand groove to celebrate her attainment.

Maureen Emenalom relocates

Her name might not exactly ring a bell but that of her husband and multimillionaire businessman, Charles Ahize, does. Ahize, who is also the leader of Obigbo, a pan-Igbo organisation, married beautiful Maureen at a lavish traditional ceremony in Imo State almost three years ago.

Ahize, who was 52 and Maureen, 26 at the time of their marriage, were blessed with a baby girl last year. As is the practice with their ilk, Maureen relocated abroad to be delivered of their first child over a year ago.

Contrary to what obtained before the arrival of her baby, Maureen has not been seen in public for a long time. Unknown to most people, she now resides in Ireland with her daughter though she visits Nigeria when the need arises.

Chydynma zeroes out

Formerly known as Chydynma D Voice, Chidinma Okebelama, a.k.a Chee, first stole into our social consciousness in 2008 when she released her first single, ‘Obimmo’. The American returnee launched into the music scene in a relatively big way.

She, in due course, became a celebrity and while she was still struggling to find her feet in the industry, clinched a Glo ambassadorship deal, which many believe was again facilitated by her close relationship with one of the daughters of billionaire businessman, Dr.Mike Adenuga.

Chidinma, who used to be a feature at most entertainment and non-entertainment events, has suddenly dropped out of circulation. This has prompted people to wonder what may be amiss with her.

Ibidun Ajayi-Ighodalo breaks silence

She is not a stranger to the limelight. She had her first taste of fame when she won the Miss Lux beauty pageant. The University of Lagos graduate later founded a highly successful event management company, Elizabeth R. Years after establishing her company, she got married to revered man of God, Pastor Ituah Ighodalo.

For many months, very little or nothing was seen of Ibidun thus prompting several insinuations. While many assumed her marriage was in trouble, others suggested she was battling a strange illness that caused her to be flown abroad for treatment.

While she is yet to make a public appearance after she went out of view, her Facebook page which has been in a limbo suddenly came alive in the last week. Apart from putting up pictures of her and her spouse, she posted this message on her timeline: “My hubby ….my one and only…bless, am such a lucky girl. Thank you God.”

Between John and Sola Momoh

This couple have outstanding careers in the media industry. While John Momoh is the founder of Channels Television, his wife Sola is a seasoned broadcaster with over 20 years experience in television journalism. She was at different times a reporter, newscaster and producer with the Nigerian Television Authority between 1979 and 1987. Subsequently, she quit to take on bigger challenges. She is currently the vice chairman at Channels Television.

The duo, who has been married for upwards of two decades, is without a doubt, the quintessential couple. These days it is not unusual to find them unwind at social functions, especially weddings in company with each other.

Gbenga Ashafa gets groovy

The former Permanent Secretary turned senator representing Lagos East in the Senate is a jolly good fellow and this much he put on display last weekend at a wedding he attended at Ikeja GRA, Lagos.

Ashafa was the cynosure of all eyes when he strolled in midway into the wedding reception of Ayodeji Edun and his wife, Tolu, with a single security aide in tow. Few minutes after his arrival, he joined the couple on the dance floor. Not one to be outshone, many were taken aback when he put on display his knowledge of modern dance steps.

Folake Oshinowo takes backseat

One of the most glamorous female politicians in Oyo State, Folake Olunloyo-Oshinowo, was a socialite long before she ventured into politics. She, alongside her husband, Tunde Oshinowo, popularly known as Teddy Shine, are well known personalities within and outside the social circles.

Folake had a go at politics when she contested for and won a seat into the House of Representatives in 2007. Her election was nullified and since then, she has remained inactive on the political scene.

Despite talks of an existing crack in her marriage, Folake and her husband were guests at a wedding in Lagos recently; thus rubbishing all idle talks.
