Not a few prominent Nigerians were in a joyous mood last Saturday when the only son of former Ekiti State Deputy Governor, Professor (Mrs.) Modupe Adelabu, wedded in Lagos. The reason was not far-fetched.

The Adelabus lost a son-in-law, Dr. Seun Fasawe, in May 2014. The deceased, who was famed in the medical and social circles, was married to Dolapo, Adelabu’s first daughter.

Therefore, the wedding of Adedapo to former Odunayo Fetuga, injected a measure of happiness into the family. The turnout of celebrities from all walks of life was indicative of the political clout of Professor Adelabu, who worked with former Governor Kayode Fayemi of Ekiti State.

After the couple was pronounced man and wife at the All Souls Anglican Church, Lekki, guests were to a grand reception at the Dorchester Event Centre on Victoria Island. The guests in attendance included political heavyweights, captains of industry and prominent academics.
