She was married to the late Chief Wole Adeosun. A prominent persona, he was until his death about three years ago, Chairman, National Pensions Commission.
An inseparable pair, Genny, who is one of the matriarchs of high society withdrew from the social scene following her husband’s demise. Beautiful in the true sense of the word, Genny was all smiles last weekend when her daughter, Yewande, got married to Ade Adefarasin last weekend in Lagos. Incidentally the groom is the son of Pastor Wale Adefarasin of the Guiding Light Assembly fame.
As expected, all aspects of the traditional wedding were superlative as both families spared no expense and ensured it was a classy soiree. There was a massive influx of A-list personalities who came to identify with the couple and their families.
The roles of Governor Abiola Ajimobi of Oyo State and his wife, Florence, at the event did not go unnoticed. It was a fair demonstration of the bond that exists between the Ajimobis and Adeosuns. Dressed in attire similar to that worn by the bride’s mother, they were a pillar of support and remained visible while the event lasted. Those in the know insist that their relationship dates back several years.
