She is a longstanding member of the social scene and easily one of the matriarchs of high society. An accomplished professional, she has a thriving career in the oil and gas industry. In 2011, she was appointed Deputy Managing Director at Nigerian Agip Oil Company Limited. The first woman to attain the status in the over 50 years history of the oil and gas industry in Nigeria, Funmi who trained as a lawyer has a career that spans over 20 years in the company, serving in various capacities and positions of responsibilities in different departments.
Married to a Ghanaian national, Frankie Goka, she is the daughter of the late Chief Oladipo Davies, a former Nigerian nationalist and a minister in the First Republic.
