Justice Fati Abubakar, Justice Mary Odili and Justice Binta Nyako are women you can’t ignore in a crowd. They are legal practitioners with an undying passion for their vocation. Even as wives of highly ‑ placed public office holders, they never shunned holding briefs. Incidentally, while the husbands of these women were in office (Nyako is married to a serving governor), they still had their eyes on the prize.

For Fati Abubakar, wife of former Head of State, Abdulsalami Abubakar, law is a profession she would always embrace. She is currently the Niger State Solicitor-General/Attorney-General. Even when her husband was serving, she never left her brief for a minute.

Mary Odili, now a Supreme Court judge, is married to former governor Peter Odili and was a First Lady in River State for eight years. She is said to have always flown to work in Abuja from the State House in Port-Harcourt daily.

For Nyako, one of the wives of the Adamawa State governor, Murtala Nyako, the office of the First Lady of the state has not robbed her of the passion for law. Currently, she is also a judge at a Federal High Court.
