It was the most-talked-about wedding. A no-expense-spared ceremony, Lagos socialite, Shade Alesh, would always prove that she is the one to beat in staging high octane shindigs. Last weekend in Lagos, her son, Olajuwon Abdul-Azeez, and his bride, Adejoke, wedded. It was, indeed, a fusion of influence and affluence, as the bride is also the daughter of a prominent Lagos fabric merchant and a very good friend of Alesh.
The star-studded wedding which attracted top echelon of the society and artistes alike, had the trappings of a world-class event. From the aso-ebi, which was said to have cost N300, 000 each, to the automated food vending machine and the decoration, many guests at the ceremony were in awe of the splendour and show of wealth.
A well-connected businesswoman, Alesh, the groom’s mother, has been trading in jewellery for over a decade and has her store located inside the Civic Centre, Victoria Island, Lagos.
