Tony Anenih’s 80th birthday celebration was an occasion that recorded the presence of the crème of society.  Expectedly, the political class recorded the highest number of attendees, one of which was Senator Stella Omu, a one-time chief whip of the senate.

The Isoko Delta State-born politician, who had been keeping a low profile especially on the political scene, was one of the several VIPs and was accorded a reception befitting her status.

Married to Major-General Paul Omu [rtd], a former military governor of South-Eastern State, 67-year-old Omu was elected into the Senate on the platform of the Peoples Democratic Party in 1999.

An ex-Controller of the Prisons Service, her presence on the social and political scene became less pronounced after she lost to James Manager, a former Delta State Commissioner for works in 2003.
